Thrivent Builds with Habitat Charlotte
Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity is a new financial, volunteer and advocacy alliance formed between Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and Habitat for Humanity. This special initiative capitalizes on the Lutheran community’s generosity, allowing Habitat to expand its capacity and build more homes for low-income families.
In Charlotte, local Thrivent Financial members along with local Lutheran congregations will come together to raise the capital and workforce to build a home for a hardworking family in Spring 2007. Since 1991, Thrivent Financial and its members have worked with Habitat for Humanity affiliates nationwide to build more than 500 homes, raise more than $25 million and contribute more than 1.4 million volunteer hours in homebuilding time.
While 2007 marks the first official Thrivent Builds with Habitat Project in Charlotte, it is simply an extension of Habitat’s wonderful partnership with it’s local Lutheran congregations locally. Since 2002, Charlotte’s Lutheran churches have built 6 houses. With the addition of financial and volunteer support from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Habitat is excited about a partnership that will welcome even more families into the safety and security of their own Habitat home.
